Welcome to your Marigold Therapy journey!
We are a team that values lived experience and as such we are non-judgemental and highly empathetic in all interactions and services we provide. We are well equipt to adapt our services to suit your individual needs and challenges.
We have developed a structured process with regular check-ins to ensure we are able to achieve your goals within a timely manner according to current evidence and provide consistent and high quality assessment and therapy.
Below is a guide of what you can expect throughout your journey with us. However, we are always here to answer any questions or concerns you may have about our services! Please reach out to our friendly admin HERE!
Pre-assessment stage:
Send a referral. (If we have capacity for new referrals we will move onto step 2).
Please note: if you have previously been a Marigold Therapy client, no need to send a new referral, just send us an email to check in!
One of our staff will organise a free 15-30 minute intake call with you or your next of kin (NOK) to ensure our service is the right fit for you.
Once the referral is accepted a quote will be provided, once accepted we will complete a service agreement. Once the service agreement is signed we are ready to start!
This entire process will occur within one month to ensure we provide a timely service.
Assessment stage:
During the assessment stage your Occupational Therapist will organise your initial assessment.
We will complete two-four additional appointments dependant on your needs which will including the following:
Complete of a range of standardised assessments
Further discussions with you about your needs and dreams.
Functional assessment (doing tasks such as cooking or grocery shopping)
Observational assessment – this may be at home, day programs, school, or attendance in our peer groups
Speaking to important persons in your life (if you provide us with consent), this includes paid and non-paid supports.
Please note: if we are unable to complete any part of this assessment this may impact on the recommendations we can provide.
Therapy and Intervention:
Therapy consists of regular sessions, as per your individual needs, this may be weekly, twice weekly, monthly, etc. The therapeutic process usually includes home tasks and activities.
We provide therapy in ten week blocks, at the end of the blocks we arrange a meeting with yourself and/or your NOK to ensure therapy is meeting your goals and that you are an active participant of the process. As this time additional goals can be created, continue to work on current goals or discharge may occur if your goals have been met.
At Marigold Therapy, we believe therapy is integrated into your daily routines to get the most effective outcome working towards your goals. Following three cancelations or no-shows we may discharge you from our services. However, we have an open door policy and are always happy to revisit your needs when you have the time and capacity to participate in the assessment requirements.
Reports and Documentation:
Reports and documentation is a regular practice. We complete regular training to ensure our reports and documentation meet all criteria whether this be for NDIS purposes or other. During the referral process please let us know when you need this documentation by so we can ensure it is completed in a timely manner.
We work with you to ensure all documentation and reports accurately reflect your needs and our assessment data. Once the report or documentation has been provided we allow four weeks for you to come back to us with any changes or concerns you may have. We will work with you within these four weeks to make these changes. After this time, we would need to complete a review of your function to ensure recommendations are still accurate and based on data collected.
