Tannille (She/ Her)
Director + Senior Occupational Therapist
Tannille was born and raised in Sydney and now calls Alice Springs home. Tannille has lived and worked in Alice Springs since March, 2020. Tannille has worked in a non-government organisation in Sydney as a support worker during and studies and once qualified as an occupational therapist worked in community Mental Health in Sydney where she became familiar with public mental health systems. Tannille has completed a masters of Narrative Therapy in 2021 and utilises trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practices to support the people she works with. What this means for Tannille’s practice is a gentle, non-judgemental, open and honest practice. Tannille allows the person she is supporting to guide the process of assessment and intervention.
Tannille uses a range of modalities that she adapts to support the individual person she is working with. Tannille helps people to rediscover who they are and what unique skills, strengths may have been covered over by negative stories from society, people around them, past experiences due to inappropriate therapies and experiences of abuse and violence.
Tannille’s passion is to provide support to women, gender-diverse individuals and children who are neurodiverse, have mental health challenges or have trauma; or a combination of these individual experiences. Something close to Tannille’s heart is holistic practices of yoga, meditation, art, craft and connection through women and gender-diverse circles.
Growing up, Tannille has beautiful memories of being in the garden with her Poppy and her Nanny watching them from the kitchen. Poppy loved marigolds - vibrant yellow and orange flowers. Tannille remembers that when the marigolds would die they would rub them in their hands to find more seeds. These seeds they planted and more and more flowers grew. For Tannille, marigolds represent and tell a story of hope, that no matter what happens we can always heal and regrow. As an occupational therapist Tannille believes engaging in life and activities that we enjoy keeps us well and helps us to heal.
